Privacy Policy

PariTales (“we”, “us”) makes safe, educational comics for children aged 4–12. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We wrote it to be read by parents and teachers, not just lawyers.

Who our service is for

PariTales is intended for use by parents, teachers, and guardians, who may then share the resulting comics with children. Accounts are meant to be created and managed by an adult. We do not knowingly create accounts for children under 13 without a parent or guardian.

What we collect

• Account info. When you sign in, our authentication provider (Google Firebase Authentication) gives us your email address and a unique account ID. We do not receive or store your password.
• What you create. The story ideas (prompts) you type, plus the comics, images, captions, and any videos generated from them, so we can show them back to you in your library.
• Usage data. Basic counts (such as how many comics you’ve made this month) so we can apply free-plan limits, and standard technical logs needed to run and secure the service.
• Payment info. If you subscribe, payments are handled by our payment partners (Dodo Payments on the web; Apple or Google in our mobile apps). We receive your subscription status, but we never see or store your full card number.

What we do not collect

• We do not ask children for personal information.
• We do not sell your or your child’s personal information to anyone.
• We do not show third-party advertising to children.

How your story ideas are used by AI

To generate comics and videos, the story idea you type is sent to our AI providers (including Google’s Gemini and Veo models). They process it to produce your comic and return it to us. We use a content safety filter before and after generation to keep results age-appropriate. We do not use your prompts to advertise to you.

Where your data is stored

Comics, images, and videos are stored on Cloudflare’s infrastructure (databases and file storage) on our behalf. We keep your content so it stays available in your library; you can delete comics at any time, and deleting your account removes your content.

Your choices and rights

• Delete any comic from your library at any time.
• Request a copy of your data or full deletion of your account by emailing us at support@paritales.com.
• Stop using the service at any time; cancel a subscription from your settings.

Depending on where you live (for example the EU/UK under GDPR, or California under CCPA), you may have additional rights to access, correct, or delete your information. We honor these requests — just contact us.

Children’s privacy (COPPA)

Because PariTales is designed to be operated by adults, we direct it to parents and teachers rather than children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information without a parent’s involvement, contact us at support@paritales.com and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we’ll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
